It was extremely bittersweet to return to the place that she had done much of her growing up and see that although she had changed... it had not. Kanto was still a bloody mess, nothing had gone right since she went away. The sweet, well - was the odd feeling of being home after a long time - even if home was shitty and run down and being drained of any life that it had left by a tyrannical cooperation. Celedon City had many of the same landmarks, but the people were even more lifeless than they had been when she was a teenager. Hopeless, a sad thought - that these people had lost all semblance of a future so long as Team Rocket was in charge.
The city's smog hung over the dilapidated buildings, blocking out the stars. The coverage made the streets look hazy in the dark, and people were quickly making it to their homes in the housing complex. Sheeple, it was enough to make the woman frown and sigh. As much as she hated this it was an all too familiar sight. Taken back to a moment from her teenage years, she would look up, expecting to see a pigdeotto watching over her from the top of a crumbling structure... but her first pokemon was long gone - the sacrifice to be made in escaping the region. Returning here, meant that the woman was returning to everything that she had failed to fix before escaping.
But now that she was back, she was determined to right that wrong. With Saorise's spirit looming the place and Michael at her side, they would rally up the rebels and take back what was theirs...
At least, that was the plan.
Starting that plan was easier said than done when starting from scratch. It seemed their old base was not accessible now that the way to Lavender Town was sealed properly. She had screamed in frustration when she first figured out that she couldn't pay her respects the way that she had wanted to - but it was just one more thing to let go...
She could only pray that she wouldn't have to do that anymore often.

This was the second day of his return to the Kanto region and it wasn't going very well for him, he had made very little progress in rallying the rebels together. Of course this could be because he had only been here two days and one couldn't hope to raise an army in such a short amount of time, but Michael had a feeling it had to deal with more than just that. The amount of people actually rebelling against the Rockets in the city had dwindled down in the four or so years he had spent away from his home region. The people had become like sheep to the Rockets and they were herding them into a mindless state of being that they wouldn't escape from if someone didn't take the time to raise up against them. If none of the active rebels in the city had it in them to call wolf then Michael would make sure that he would be the one to do it, the fate of the world was resting on his shoulders. At that's the way it felt to him, he couldn't really see anyone amongst the Kanto rebels more fit for helping rebuild the world than him he had after all promised two very important people in his life that he'd make things better. That and he had been through two different regions battling against the Rockets in both of them, that had to count for something right?
His hands found themselves resting firmly inside of his hoodie pockets as he moved through the smog ridden streets. His former thoughts being pushed out of his head as he watched the people of the city hurry towards their homes, he had to certainly look like an odd one as he moved along the crowed sidewalk shoulders brushing up against those moving the opposite way as him. They would give him a slightly jaded look but would then go about their business, it was pretty hard tell who was and wasn't a member of Team Rocket these days so they had to be careful with who they messed with. Granted for all Michael knew one the people he had bumped into could have been a Rocket grunt themselves, but either way he kept on walking.
He wished he could have visited his old base in Lavender Town it was certainly something he was looking forward to returning to, it had been where he got a lot of work done with his little gang of rebels. It had also been where he had told a certain someone how he felt about them, and began a long lasting relationship with them one that has spanned nearly five years. Thoughts of everything he had gone through with Cherise were present in his mind as he wandered down the street, and as if fate was playing with him he actually caught sight of the blonde wandering down the street ahead of him. He began to pick up his pace so that he could catch up with her, but it wasn't going to be as simply as walking up and saying hello, no he was going to scare her pretty good.
A grin appeared on Michael's face as he tossed his hood up and began to slow his pace once he was behind her, he kept creepy closer and closer to her before finally his arms were outstretched and found themselves wrapping around Cherise's waist pulling her close to him. His lip was placed close to her ear and he did his best to make some kind of scary voice, "We've found you at last Angel, it's time you pay for all your rebel crimes." he whispered in her ear trying his best not to laugh. He was probably asking for trouble with this but in times like this you couldn't help but tease the ones you loved right?
