► OVERALL APPEARANCE ► Everest comes across as quite the intimidating woman, even for her young age – not just in appearances but in personality too. One does not even have to see her to immediately know she is coming; she has this sort of aura that always manages to proceed her, one of cool determination and purpose. She seems to be quite the stoic person, always standing at attention, never slouching – she has the posture of a goddess, one anyone would kill for. She stands at a height of five foot seven inches, impressive considering the majority of her mother’s side of the family is rather short, even the men. At a steady weight of one hundred thirty-eight pounds, one would think her lanky and clumsy when in fact the opposite is the case; Everest is quite graceful, her gait controlled and steps precise as if she has everything planned, down to the most miniscule of muscle movements.
Ever has a pale yet warm complexion with few blemishes and little markings. She does have a few scars though – one running from mid-calf to Achilles heel on left leg from a clean knife strike and another, fairly large scar running from middle of same knee to a fourth of the way down her shin from having her tibia surgically realigned after a Rapidash riding accident. She also possesses numerous piercings – both ear lobes are pierced three times, rim and tragus of right ear also – and a few tattoos – intermingling jackal and red fox paw prints descending her right calf in spiral formation down to the top of her foot, tattoo of a raven in flight on her left shoulder blade and various feathers falling across her back and waist to her right hip, similar in appearance to this, but in reverse.
Her hair is rather unusual. It is of a pale, dusty rose pink hue and falls to roughly her shoulder blades in layers of waves, curling slightly at the ends. She can normally be seen with her hair flowing freely over her shoulders and down her back, and will even leave it down when in combat; the orientation of her hair seems to be a rather accurate method of determining how serious Everest is, actually. If she has her hair down, there is likely no reason to worry, but if she happens to pull it up it is best to know that she means business. Her eyes are quite remarkable as well, always seeming to shift between varying hues of green, blue and sometimes gray; they tend to linger between a shade of sky blue or a brilliant aquamarine. She tends to wear minimal makeup, consisting of liquid eyeliner and occasionally eyeshadow, and saves the more elaborate foundations, etc. for more important occasions.
Everest’s choice in attire is what most notably sets her apart from her fellow Rebels, opposing Rockets and general denizens alike. Rarely is she ever in normal, casual attire, preferring to don a somewhat militaristic style uniform – of which she has many in differing styles… – and booted footwear with some degree of a heel. Occasionally she can be seen in simple ‘citizen’ clothing, as she calls it, whenever off-duty or on a job requiring some manner of disguise. Her wardrobe habits seem to stem primarily from her upbringing as a ‘military brat’ and from her own personal preferences; she never was truly one for the frilly, girly stuff, although she does own some more feminine clothes…

► HABITS & QUIRKS ►
► OVERALL PERSONALITY ► Everest may come across to some people – okay, many people – as quite the odd young woman, and for some that know her well she still comes across as weird. She does not seem to behave like most girls do, all bubbly and talkative and social… okay, that is not how every girl acts, but when compared to Everest every other female seems to be obtuse and loud. Everest comes across as the female version of the ‘strong silent’ type, talking only when necessary and on the rare occasions where she pleases to speak. She seems almost… cold and uncaring at first, but when you get to know her better, she still is… cold and uncaring. Mostly. Everest carries herself with an air of cool indifference, as if she is separated from the rest of the world around her, and is always surrounded with this air of intimidation and maintains a commanding presence.
Everest is not always good at showing her emotions. Since she was young she has been taught to school her emotions in order to perform effectively at whatever she sets her mind to. It never helped that her father was a sergeant and then the Admiral of his own naval ship. Where her twin lacks in seriousness and rationality Everest makes up for, tenfold. Everest is terribly competitive, always a rather bad loser and struggling with the idea of ‘losing gracefully’ – to her there is no such thing, and she comes closer to losing her temper during these times than in any other situation. Although she has a rather moderate temper, she does get irritated easily – not that you will ever realize it, for as it was said she knows how to school her facial expressions and at least maintain a calm appearance, even though she may be wanting to throttle you where you stand. And be warned, she could; and she could make it look like an accident. Other than her love for sports and anything involving competition, she adores books and – oddly enough – swordfighting. Yeah, she’s a badass with anything with a blade. She can handle firearms as well, but it is the blade that she has an affinity for. The thrill of steel against steel, of metal cutting cleanly through the air, of meeting a thrust with a parry and a thrust of her own. In a skirmish take care with underestimating her upon the appearance of her twin sai, for she is more effective with them than many people are with a gun.
As it has been mentioned that she does not know how to show emotion, in reality she is not good at showing them; that does not mean she cannot. She is just uncomfortable with showing them, particularly anything having to do with the more… affectionate emotions. Everest is not exactly the affectionate type. In fact, she does not really do the entire ‘lovey dovey’, hugging or anything for that matter. Or relationships. One might even go as far to say as she is afraid of them (even though she really isn’t). It does not help that she firmly believes that she not only has no time for them, but they are a waste of her time as well. She has a soft side though, even if it is more like a thin down-soft blanket over a rock hard block of steel… Very few have seen it though, these people being only her family to date. It is believed to be possible to break through her defensive forces and barricades though. May the odds be ever in your favor should you dare to try.
- Long, hot soaks in the bath… Coming from a life of luxury, Everest likes a surprisingly small amount of things that come as a result of her family’s wealth. That does not include large bathtubs and their ability to help relax even the tightest of muscles, with only the tightest being at the mercy of a massage – and Everest loves those too.
- Playing chess with Aquilo… Pairing a highly intellectual and intuitive creature with one such as Everest was bound to produce a rather ‘nerdy’ pastime that the two take part in…and one of those pastimes would be chess. The two constantly try to anticipate the other’s next move – occasionally with success, due to their unusually strong bond. They also enjoy sparring with each other, and get quite competitive against the other if they go at an activity for long enough.
- Salads… For such a physically fit woman, Everest has no need whatsoever to go on a diet – ever. So her liking to salads of all compositions and sizes comes across as quite strange to friends and family. She is not a rabbit, though, and eats just as much meat and other foods as she does her leafy greens. If a salad is optional, though, do not be surprised when she goes for it right away.
- Yoga pants… Every female loves them, and Everest is no excuse. You just will never see her wearing them out in public to save her life. She believes them to be appropriate only for relaxing in the complete privacy of her own home, and will still not wear them if she happens to have company over. She does love them though, and will often retreat to don them as soon as she walks through her door in the evenings.
- Sword fighting… Fencing, sparring, even full-on traditional sword fights, Everest takes great pleasure in it and will engage in any form of combat with minimal hesitation; rarely does she ever resort to firearms, preferring her swords and daggers. She loves the thrill of a close-range battle, the adrenaline rush from being so close to danger and the enemy. When asked if she happens to be out of her mind, Everest simply assures that she always dives into a fight or sticky situation with a clear head. She thrives off of the frenetic energy of combat and enjoys being able to present her skills.
► DISLIKES ►
- Losing… Everest is an incredibly competitive young woman, always striving to be the very best that she can be and to outdo everyone else. To place any lower than first is to be last, and to lose is to utterly fail in whatever endeavor she is putting her energy into.
- Sushi… Both of her parents and her brother love the stuff, but Everest just cannot fathom what is so delicious about consuming raw fish. It just looks so slimy and infested with deadly bacteria that could kill you the moment it got into your body. Not to mention it smells weird, very weird…
- Being sick… Everest has always had a rather strong immune system, stronger than many of other children her age and even many adults. So on that rare blue moon when she actually does get sick, it tends to be the nastier, unable-to-leave-the-bed type of sick, including the most unpleasant of vomiting and merciless migraines. Do not expect her to be able to function at all.
- Energy drinks… Not including the sports drinks – the stuff that actually benefits your body – but the nasty stuff that hypes you up on sugar and caffeine and adrenaline before leaving you to crash miserably and has been known to cause death in young people. Not only do they taste disgusting, but they make her feel weird and over-energized, too energized, like she just ingested drugs or something. They pollute the body terribly, and the effects they have are hazardous and potentially lethal. She outright denounces them, and encourages anyone who happens to enjoy them to stop drinking them.
- Being interrupted… There is always a reason for her to be speaking, and she loathes having people trying to talk over her or get her to stop talking. Although some who are not as fond of her may claim it is because she likes to hear herself talk, that is most definitely not the case; everything she has to say is important and is meant to be heard, and she does not like to talk just to fill a silence. If no one is speaking, she will not break the silence – no matter how awkward – unless she feels it is supposed to be broken. When she speaks, she expects to be heard and to be heard by all ears, and if someone is trying to talk then they are definitely not listening. It goes back to her opinion on respect; not listening to her and trying to talk as well is an outright display of disrespect and is a dishonor to her and other superiors. And it should be noted that she does not tolerate any form of disrespect, toward her or anyone…
► FEARS & PHOBIAS ►
- Failing to protect her brother… Even though Forrest is older than her by an entire hour, Everest considers herself the wiser and more mature of the two and always looks out for Forrest’s brash and at times over-outgoing self. She has taken it as a personal vow to watch over him and keep him from falling into Rocket hands – that is not to say she can keep him from every danger they pose, but she tries her hardest.
- Losing respect… Everest is a creature of authority and leadership. She thrives off of the hard-earned respect of others and works diligently to retain the faith people have in her. They come to her with their problems and trust her to give useful advice, and when faced with a decision she trusts and expects others to treat her as she deserves. Everest is deeply afraid of something happening that would injure the level of respect others have for her.
- No-win situations… To date she has not found herself in such a predicament, and she hopes her good fortune continues in this way. The last thing she and the Rebels need is the final, crushing effect of having no good way out of a problem, not without heavy loss of some sort. Everest likes to believe she knows what she would do if she ever came face to face with an overwhelming situation, when in reality she has no idea whatsoever and will go so far as to lie if ever asked what she would do – if only to prevent others from worrying as well.
► GOALS ►
- To see Team Rocket brought to its knees… Everest comes from a family that does not tolerate miscreants, gangs and criminal behavior of any sort; many of the men and women she is related to have either taken up duties within the police force, Unova military or some other law-abiding job, and they do not like anything or anyone to mess with the law or the peace that they work so hard to help maintain. Everest herself has taken down many law-breakers as she has grown older, and particularly despises what the Rockets have done to Kanto and how far their dirty corruption has been allowed to reach. She is determined to have a hand in their permanent downfall, even if it is just a small role in the grand scheme.
- To raise a Tyranitar or Nidoking… While neither of the two fall into her range of favored steel types, Everest has always found them to be fascinating. She saw her first of each on separate occasions, both of which were owned and trained by people her father worked with. She would always sit and watch the large pokémon train for hours, sometimes with each other and sometimes against other pokémon in the Navy, and would then return home with her father and tell her mother that she wanted one of each – much to her mother’s horror and her father’s amusement. Of course with the current Rocket situation it would be a perfect time to have one or both of the beasts at her side, but it is not the place nor does she have the time to to utterly devote to the training of either one. Still, it is a goal that she is determined to each sooner rather than later.
- To write a book… She has wanted to write a biography long before she got involved with the Rocket resistance, but the longer she stays involved the more she believes that a biography would be unbelievable to the reader. It is a running joke among those that are close to her that she would do better to pass her biography off as the latest dystopian fiction for young adults, or maybe to turn it into a play… And she jokes about it alongside them, for how can she argue what is so frighteningly true? Their lives do seem like something she would see in the novels she sometimes reads, but maybe she could work her personal story into both fictional and biographical genres.
► HABITS & QUIRKS ►
- Plays with pens…or blades…[/] Ever has a very bad habit of fiddling with a pen if it happens to be on her person or within her reach. It is not the result of a nervous tick or boredom, she just subconsciously has to be doing something with her hands at all times. She even plays with them when she is talking, which can be quite distracting to others unfortunately, as they are tasked with trying to pay more attention to her than her hands. This is why she carries so many writing utensils with her; if she is not explaining or showing something to others with her hands, you can guarantee she will find a pen to occupy them.
- Taps fingers & nails on surfaces… Mostly a normal subconscious habit, although on the rare occasion she grows truly impatient or irritated she will tap her fingers, usually against tabletops or her own person. It all depends on the rate at which her fingers moving whether she is in a normal, safe mood or in a slow-growing frenzy.
- Cleans when stressed… Oh yes, Everest is one of those people, those who clean when they are stressed out. She already has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder disorganization beware, so any train wreck mess or even slightly dusty surface or room in her path when she lets stress get to her even the slightest will be cleaned to shining, spotless condition.

► MOTHER ► Jacklyn Pryce LaReaux, Forty, CEO of Lux LaReaux Inc., Alive
► FATHER ► Benedict Andrew LaReaux, Forty-three, Admiral in Unova Navy, Alive
► SISTER(S) ► None
► BROTHERS(S) ► Forrest Oliver LaReaux, twin brother, occupation unknown
► OTHER FAMILY ► Relatives in Unova
► HOMETOWN ► Castelia City, Unova
► PAST MAJOR ILLNESSES & INJURIES ► Injuries & surgery, the occasional cold
► OVERALL HISTORY ► Everest was born the younger twin and only daughter to Benedict and Jacklyn LaReaux, both young but very established members of Unovian society. Being raised by the most decorated Admiral in the Navy and the most powerful CEOs in the region had more than its fair share of ups and downs, but the small family of four made it work. Despite their dedication to their work their parents always found time to be with their children, whether it was making and taking time out of their busy schedules or bringing them to work, young Everest and Forrest never went a day without seeing their parents. Everest particularly enjoyed the days she followed her father to work, finding it more exciting to watch the goings on aboard a naval vessel. While never spoiled, she and her brother were never left wanting and nor were they given too much.
As she grew older, Everest continued to find her father’s work more and more fascinating, adopting many of the morals and habits of the people around her – always alert even when relaxed, never untidy and without a single piece of lint or hair out of line, the strict discipline and organized agendas, and most importantly a firm respect for those in authority. And as she filled into herself and her persona, she found her own niche aboard her father’s ship, and even gained respect from his crew as one of their own.
For their fifteenth birthday the twins were given a pokémon of their choice to raise. While her brother choose a companion of his own Everest chose a young Riolu, whom accompanied her not only to school but everywhere else with her as well. Pokémon and trainer were inseparable, constantly training like her father’s crew and their own pokémon. Her dedication to the Riolu paid off in his evolution into a Lucario, the two often seeming closer than Everest was with her brother. The siblings graduated from their schooling – Everest taking top in their class and Forrest second – and afterward focused on their separate passions. Forrest began his secondary studies in Nimbasa City while Everest remained in Castelia so she could continue her work under their father while taking classes.
The entire region was aware of the struggles taking place in Kanto and Johto, but with no real and potential threat presented to Unova the government elected to remain for the most part neutral. Instead select military units were chosen to transport supplies in to the growing rebel forces in an attempt to help bring Team Rocket down from afar. When a number of the missions failed or ran into difficulties the military decided to pull back from the operation, instead allowing certain groups to make the transport runs. Among the few units was Admiral LaReaux’s ship and crew, which was now tasked with reconnaissance of the Rocket’s control and reach as well as transport of goods and supplies to hiding and growing rebel forces. In an executive decision to further observe the extent of the criminal group’s control of the regions – Kanto specifically – volunteers were asked for to go in behind enemy lines and give aid to the rebels were they could.
Among the volunteering personnel was Everest herself. Despite her skillset and natural capability her father originally refused her request. He only relented and allowed her to go directly into the fray as long as she kept her pokémon by her side at all times and carried more than her favored swords – even training her and giving her a firearm to utilize. Only when she was proficient with a gun did he allow her to go in.
Everest inserted herself into the rebel forces quickly, working her way in and giving aid where she was most useful. Eventually she was asked to take on a leading position within the more organized group of rebels in and around Celadon and Saffron, of which she accepted. Taking on the role of the group’s strategist as well as second-in-command, she dedicated herself to keeping the rebels safe and slowly putting a stop to Team Rocket’s dominion. These people that she did not even know very well, she was doing all she could to help them out. And all the while she would report back to her father, who would travel between home and Kanto, providing whatever was needed.
She may only be one woman, but she will do whatever it takes to help defeat Team Rocket for good. Before they set their sights on her home region.

► NAME ► Aquilo
► SPECIES ► Lucario
► GENDER ► Male
► ABILITY ► Inner Focus
► PERSONALITY ► They say after a pokémon tends to take on the traits and personality of its trainer, and this Lucario is no different. Stoic, observant and always alert, there is nothing going on that escapes his careful watch. Incredibly loyal to Everest, there is nothing that he would not do for his beloved trainer. Always serious and calculating, his natural way of analyzing his opponents and his options mirrors Ever’s own strategic tendencies, and his is ever patient enough to wait for the right moment to take action. Precise and disciplined, he takes care to ensure that his attacks are not only carried out but that they land as well. While he does not anger easily, he has his limits and can be lethal when provoked. Extremely protective and in tune with Everest, he does not let anyone he considers a potential threat near her and even mirrors her emotions, acting and reacting in similar ways that she would as a result of their connection.
