He watched as the house's components were thrown out into the yard. Screaming of a woman could be heard behind him. Children were crying and a man was yelling at the rockets to stop. The people were ignored as he carried out his overview of the mission, watching as glass shattered on the concrete and as toys broke. Precious family photos were thrown in the dirt and were continuously stepped on as the ten man squad raided the four bedroom living quarters.
finally, a man around the age of sixty was thrown into the yard. Behind him, a pokemon was thrown out. The old man groaned as he got to his knees. His pokemon, a well-aged Leafeon, growled at the rockets as they surrounded him. He glared at the rockets and stood up proudly for what he was. A city rat. A no good rebel who was hiding out in this family's home. And he was not the only one to be punished.
Hikaru held up his hand and moved through the group, Zuko, his Charmeleon, walked after him, flames licking his lips. "Surrender now and we won't harm you or your Leafeon," he commanded. The old man just shot him a glare. Nothing was said except that he told his Leafeon to run, to which it didn't listen. Hikaru smirked at this. What a well trained pokemon. It would be perfect for Team Rocket's cause.
"Fine, have it your way... Team Rocket, take him and his Leafeon. Take them to be questioned and put his Leafeon with the other prisoner pokemon."
He turned as fighting broke out between Team Rocket and the old man. He moved towards the family. Beside the father was a Hypno. The mother had a simple Meowth. The two children each had a Plusle and Minun. He said nothing to the family as he stared at them. The mother and children looked terrified. The father looked angry and ashamed. Good.
When the fighting stopped behind him and some of the Team Rocket members left with the man and his pokemon, the rest came up and stood behind him. Nothing was said. They stood there and the family stared. The mother and father knew what was going to happen. The children did not. Hikaru understood that.
"Arrest the man and his pokemon. Take the woman and her meowth too. As for the children.... ," they looked only to be four and six, "Let them keep their pokemon. But take them to Team Rocket's Headquarters until we know where to put them."
Screaming and pleading erupted from the tiny family. The children yelled for their parents, but they were soon separated and their pokemon in pokeballs. Hikaru watched as the family was put into separate vehicles and taken away. He stood in front of the house with Zuko and looked at the pile of belongings. He walked over to it and leaned down to grab a photo of the family. Without looking at it, he stuffed it into his pocket for the children at a later time.
"Zuko, burn the rest of their belongings. I have a feeling they wont need them for a long time," he commanded. His Charmeleon did right as he was told. Flamethrower shot out of its mouth and it set the belongings ablaze. As he watched the stuff burn, he began to think.
None of this had been part of his job description. But someone had to do it when the higher ups were off duty. He just happened to be the first higher rank that was found and so he decided to take the mission. Even so, this was no fun. Hopefully he would be the one to question those people later. Especially the children.
He wasn't so heartless as to hurt them. He knew better. They had done nothing wrong. They were young and learning. And what their parents did was break the law. That was not teaching them good things. So he was going to see what he could do. Maybe talk them into joining Team Rocket at a later date or something. He'd let them calm down first, of course. And he'd have to explain what happened. But all that would come with time.
For now, he was just going to turn his back on this burning pile of ash and head back to the head quarters. He wanted to get there before the others took his prey and his reward.
